Premier League fantasy football: FPL to let players include managers

Fantasy Premier League managers will add an assistant manager from game 24 onwards in January.

The new Assistant Manager Chip – formerly known as the Mystery Chip – allows players to earn points from one of 20 Premier League managers based on their team’s wins, draws, goals and clean sheets over the three game weeks.

Assistant coaches will receive six points for every win, three points for a draw, two points for a clean sheet and one point for every goal scored.

An additional 10 points are awarded for a win against the manager of a club at least five places higher in the Premier League table, and an additional 5 points for a draw.

Once the chip is activated, free transfers are not required to select an assistant manager. But if you want to change your coach during a three-game period, then you will need the same transfer fees as players.

Fantasy players can only play one game during the week, so managers cannot serve as triple captains.

If a coach leaves a club, players will still be graded based on performance at their original club.
