Dragons sign prop Paula Latu as Leon Brown undergoes neck surgery
With Brown and Yandle unavailable, the Dragons signed Latu from New Zealand side Southland Stags.
Latu is also available at will, having already made five appearances for his country and making his debut against Canada in a 2023 World Cup warm-up game.
The 28-year-old came on as a substitute in Tonga’s win over Romania at the 2023 World Cup and made three substitute appearances in the 2024 autumn internationals.
“We’re excited to have Paola with us,” Dragons interim head coach Philo Tiatia said.
“He arrived on Monday, has been linked up with the team and he will be a good signing for us.
“Paola is a prop with the ball, but he can also play. He is an athlete and a young man who is still learning his craft and we can work with him.
“(Dragon forwards coach) Sam Hobbs took a good look at him and liked what he saw, so this is an opportunity for Paula.”
