Ferrari to supply Cadillac F1 team with engines for 2026

If the new Cadillac team is approved for the 2026 Formula One season, Ferrari will provide the team with engines.

American brands have Agreement in principle with F1 to join the championship from 2026 And build your own engine “later”.

General Motors’ Cadillac has reached a deal with Ferrari to buy customer engines and transmissions until its own power units are ready, which is not expected before 2028.

The move means Ferrari will continue to have two customer teams in 2026, despite losing Sauber as it becomes the entry point to Audi’s factory.

Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur said: “At a time when Formula 1 is growing in popularity in the United States, it’s great to see the commitment of another American team with the support of one of the automotive industry’s most respected brands.

“We are therefore delighted to be able to provide the team with our power units and gearboxes as the basis for this technical collaboration.”

Vasseur said having two customers – Haas will continue to work with Ferrari – “brings benefits to Ferrari’s internal technology development”.

Cadillac’s entry has not yet been officially approved by F1, but it is expected to be a formality.
