The Arab-African Trade Bridge (AATB) program, a pioneering initiative aimed at strengthening trade and economic integration between Arab and African countries, has successfully concluded its fourth Arab-African Agricultural Products Buyers/Sellers Conference.

The event was held at the Al Manara International Conference Center in Cairo, Egypt, in conjunction with the renowned African Food Exhibition. Over two days, 129 exporters and 36 suppliers from the Arab and African regions came together to promote meaningful business interactions and collaborations.

This year’s event reinforces the AATB program’s commitment to supporting companies in the strategic food sector, which is a cornerstone of regional economic development. By nurturing trade partnerships, expanding market access and strengthening value chains in the food sector, the program continues to drive regional integration and contribute to food security for millions of people in member countries. The event achieved significant results, with 745 bilateral meetings held and potential deals worth US$34 million facilitated.

These efforts highlight the program’s critical role in promoting sustainable economic growth and regional development.

About the Arab-African Trade Bridge (AATB) Program:
The AATB program is a multi-donor, multi-country and multi-organization initiative led by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), Islamic Insurance Corporation for Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC) and Islamic Corporation for Private Sector Development (ICD).

The program aims to promote and increase trade and investment flows between Africa and Arab OIC member states by supporting trade finance, export credit insurance and capacity-building tools. Its main areas of focus include agriculture and related industries (such as textiles), health industries (including pharmaceuticals), infrastructure and transportation, petrochemicals, construction materials and technology.
