Lilah Fear & Lewis Gibson: GB skaters win Grand Prix Final bronze
Skaters Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson took Britain’s first-ever medals with ice dancing bronze at the ISU Grand Prix final in Grenoble, France.
The event selects the top six teams in each event based on performance across the series, with Team GB securing their spot with wins at Skate America and the Finlandia Cup earlier this season.
The two-time European silver medalists earned a combined score of 205.18 in the rhythm dance and free dance events.
Reigning world champions Madison Chalke and Evan Bates of the United States won the gold medal with 219.85 points, while Italian European champions Charlene Gignard and Marco Fabbri won the gold medal with 206.11 points.
“We are extremely honored to be the first British Grand Prix final medalists and we are extremely proud to represent Great Britain,” said the pair.
“It’s great to be able to continue the tradition of British ice dancing – there have been so many legends before us and we’re excited to be leading the new generation.”
Phil, 25, and Gibson, 30, are preparing for the European Championships in Tallinn, Estonia, at the end of January and the World Championships in Boston in March.
