Sports Personality of the Year 2024 nominees: Bellingham, Hodgkinson, Littler, Root, Storey and Yee
The six contenders for the 2024 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award have been announced.
Footballer Jude Bellingham, runner Keeley Hodgkinson, darts player Luke Littler, cricketer Joe Root, para cyclist Sarah Storey and triathlete Athlete Alex Yee is the nominee.
Voting will take place on Tuesday 17 December during the show on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Hosted by Gabby Logan, Alex Scott and Clare Balding and broadcast live from MediaCityUK in Salford, the show will celebrate an incredible 12 months of sporting action.
Alex Kay-Jelski, director of BBC Sport, said: “This is a fantastic shortlist. This year all six have kept us on the edge of our seats and shown us they are What a sensation.”
“I’m looking forward to reliving each of their successes on the night and finding out who viewers want to be crowned the 2024 BBC Sports Personality of the Year.”
The public can vote for the main prizes by phone or online on the evening, with details to be announced during the show.
Other awards to be announced include Young Sportsperson of the Year, Team and Coach of the Year, Unsung Hero Award and Helen Rollason Award.
Lifetime Achievement Awards and World Sports Star Awards will also be presented.
Voting for the World Sports Star Award is still ongoingbut will close on Tuesday, December 10 at 10:00 GMT.
