This Automatic Coffee Machine Has Ruined All Others for Me (and It’s 38% Off)

At least a dozen coffee machines have passed through my test kitchen, but none have made a bigger splash than Terra Kaffe’s impressive fully automatic coffee machine I’m currently testing. TK-02 (Currently 38% off for Cyber Week.) Espresso Get rich crema, perfectly balanced drip coffee, and frothy lattes and cappuccinos in seconds.

It’s the most impressive coffee maker I’ve ever used, and I mean that with my fingers, because this smart coffee maker can make all of these drinks – and more – with the same amount of effort it takes to flip a light switch.

This $1,600 do-it-all coffeemaker has been making my morning drip coffee and afternoon latte for four months now, and I’m addicted; ruining all other hopelessly analog brewing formats. when i learned this was Price $1,095 When you sign up for a Bean subscription or spend $1,195 on an unsubscribed machine cyber weekI couldn’t keep this news a secret.

Purpose of TK-02

The TK 02 is an all-in-one automatic coffee machine, espresso machine, and on-site barista (basically) that grinds coffee beans and brews fresh coffee in seconds using filtered water. The TK-02 utilizes its in-machine frother to add frothed milk or nut milk to the mix for Italian café drinks.

Espresso

The TK-02 makes creamy espresso without any manual labor.

It can make almost any coffee drink you can think of. The stylish coffee machine brews espresso, iced coffee and smooth Americano, as well as frothy coffee drinks including lattes, flat whites, macchiatos and cappuccinos. If you prefer classic American drip coffee, you can have a piping hot cup of coffee in about 2 minutes. If you or your guests are drinking tea, it will fill you with hot filtered water using a special spout.

The TK-02 creates respectable lather without any effort on your part.

Easy to operate. Like, really easy

The saying was bandied about, but the TK-02 earned the nickname. I found the digital controls to be very intuitive, without too many settings or features, and the navigation was clear and simple – just what you want in the morning. I never consulted the manual, and that’s not the case with every multifunction coffee maker I’ve tested.

I found changing brew strength and grind size particularly easy and intuitive.

In addition to triggering your coffee drinking, the built-in computer can help manage settings, including grind size and the amount of coffee the machine makes when you request drip. If you want a stronger latte, simply increase the espresso to milk ratio and save the new setting.

There’s (of course) an app for making coffee remotely in bed. I didn’t find an app that suited me make coffee, but occasionally for managing brew settings, grind sizes, and double-checking cleaning supplies and changing filters.

It’s cleaner than most coffee makers

The TK-02 lets you know when water needs to be added or the trash can or drip tray needs to be emptied.

Routine maintenance requires far less than a manual espresso machine or even most drip coffee machines. The TK-02 performs an automatic thermal rinse after you make your morning coffee and alerts you when the machine needs a more thorough or even cleaning more Serious descaling, both are also done automatically. You can easily check your cleaning schedule to see how far away your next cleaning is, and order the materials you need from TK-02 or elsewhere.

Every part is dishwasher safe except for the top of the frothing chamber that houses the milk tube. But the frother gets hot after every few uses, whereas mine has stayed clean in the months I’ve had it.

pure white

Most mornings I have a glass or two of flat white wine.

All coffee makers produce splashes and scattered grinds, but I didn’t find the TK-02 caused a noticeable mess. When obvious stains appear, it’s not difficult to remove the parts and reassemble them after rinsing in the sink or running them through the dishwasher.

Most impressive? size

Perhaps most impressive is how the folks at Terra Kaffe managed to pack all this coffee-making smarts into such a compact machine (17.5x10x14). Similar products I’ve come across, mostly in the aforementioned upscale restaurant breakfast bars, are double or triple the size. Even regular espresso machines are the same size or larger.

Is the TK-02 Coffee Maker Worth It?

coffee machine

$1,100 is a lot of money for any coffee machine, but if you’re willing to shell out the big bucks for one, the TK-02 is a great value.

David Wosky/CNET

Making coffee with a drip machine is very simple and most quality espresso machines are easy to operate, but having a machine that can make drip coffee, creamy espresso, lattes and hot water for tea at the push of a button, This is the dream.

this TK-02 It quickly turned me into a devotee. Even so, with a price tag of $1,600 it’s hard to recommend it. Not because of performance issues, but because I don’t know how long it will last. The machine comes with a two-year or 5,000-brew limited warranty, but if I were spending more than $1,500 on a kitchen appliance, I’d expect more than two years of service.

Currently on sale for $1,095 during Cyber Week, the TK-02 is an easy buy that I’d buy as a luxury coffee for myself or as a gift for a coffee lover who’s been doing particularly well this year. This is a splurge. Even on sale, this is by no means a value buy, and there’s no claim to be one. But the TK-02 delivers superior coffee-making skills and undeniable convenience that you’ll appreciate from day one.

Although I will not object to machine output best The coffee I’ve had – for example, the foam isn’t as thick as the coffee I brew by hand – most of the coffee I’ve made is pretty close. Certainly better than what I did, especially when in a hurry and not interested in dosing espresso or taking the time to whip milk into a froth.
