What the hell is going on with this twisted tamperer?

Most high-end blenders include a separate mashing tool designed to loosen ingredients inside the blender cup. To use them, you usually have to stop mixing and stir your mixture by removing the lid or opening the pour spout. The Twisti has two small whisks built into the lid that can be manually rotated while the blender is running, so you don’t have to stop and stir things. It saves a little time, but for those of you who are used to making smoothies, sauces, or dips, it’s something you’ll love.

How effective is it?

I found that the Twisti fit the design perfectly for every mixing job I asked the Twisti to do. From blending chunky smoothie ingredients to making thicker dips and sauces, the twist tamper allows me to complete every preparation without having to stop and take off the lid. It also allows you to mix less liquid because the paddle will keep heavy, dry mixtures moving until they’re completely combined.

The only ingredients it doesn’t always blend back into the middle mixture are the sticky nut butter and the thick syrup or honey that might stick to the sides of the jar.

Ninja Twisti is small but mighty

Despite its 1,600-watt motor, the Twisti is still small compared to most other blenders with similar power. The base measures 6 x 6 inches, and with the 34-ounce jar and lid, the entire unit is only 14 inches tall. It tends to be a bit wobbly when mixed due to the unusual power to size ratio. To solve this problem, Twisti modified the bottom with two suction cups and rubber traction devices to secure it to the counter.

Other features of Ninja Twisti

In addition to a smoothie setting that runs in long pulses (another tactic to keep ingredients from clumping), Twisti also has settings for extraction (juice), one for frozen drinks, another for spreads, and a fifth For use in bowls. They all seem to do roughly the same thing—mix, stop, mix again—but for different lengths of time, designed to provide the best results for each type of recipe. The lid has a small drizzle cap with a rubber stopper inside that allows toppings to be added without removing them completely.

In addition to the 34-ounce blender cup, Twisti also includes an 18-ounce single-serve cup and a 24-ounce single-serve cup, both with spout lids.

Comprehensive mixing capacity

Although smoothies tend to stick together during blending, they generally don’t require a lot of force to blend smoothly—but other work does. The Twisti has 1,600 watts of power, which is on par with larger, premium blenders we’ve tested, so I expected it to perform similarly.

At CNET, we have standardized tests that run any We evaluate blenders, so I run them on Twisti. This small but powerful blender performs extremely well, crushing ice cubes into tiny pieces. It also quickly turns almonds into almond flour and delivers smooth, lump-free pancake batter (thanks in part to twisting the tamper).

Blender more likely to be damaged

There is one potential red flag with this blender that is worth considering, especially for heavy users. The built-in torsion rammer is made of plastic, and while it feels fairly sturdy, it can break if used rigorously. That said, if one of the two twist taters breaks, it won’t render the blender unusable, as you can still use a tamper to help loosen the ingredients. if Both If it breaks, you may still have a functioning blender, just without the advantage of twisting the tamper.

As innovative as it may be, I’m a little concerned that the plastic tamper that protrudes from the lid will crack over time.

Overall, the Twisti feels well made, despite being a quality blender from the following brands Vitamix, Breville and hybrid technology It feels sturdier, with noticeably higher-grade plastic and rubber used in the base, jar, and lid. That said, most models cost at least $250.

The sleek Beast remains my favorite true personal blender, but its capacity and power are more limited than the Twisti’s.

Other Smoothie Blender Options to Consider

Ninja also makes some other blenders with a rotating blade that runs down the center of the jar, just like its Premium Plus Blender Duo and Foodi Power Blenders and Processors. These also help keep the contents of the blender moving, but not as well as a dual-blade twist tamper. Personal blenders, including Ninja’s own blender Feed the ninja and Nutritional bullets Can get the job done with basic smoothies, dips, and sauces, but they have limited power and capacity. this $155 Beast Health The blender remains my favorite premium small blender, with above-average performance, sharp looks, and an unusually sturdy build for a blender of its size.
