Sophie Ingle: Wales midfielder eager to recover to be part of Euro 2025 adventure
Ingall said Wales’ dream of finally achieving a major championship will continue to resonate as women’s sport strengthens in the country.
“I think we struggled for so many years off the field with a lot of different things, and then Friday night (first stop in Cardiff), Reaching record audiences – we’ve been working towards this for years, it’s not something that’s going to happen over time,” she said.
“Hopefully now as we win and we get into the big tournaments the fan base will continue to grow and more girls and boys will want to come to our games and support us and we’ll give back as much as we can able.
“It’s special and I think the women’s game in Wales is going to grow tremendously now and I’m delighted to be part of it with my best friend of over ten years.
“It means a lot to all of us, don’t get me wrong, especially someone like Jessie (Fishlock), what she’s done for Welsh football, for us as partners, as team-mates, over the years. To see how happy she was that she was coming off that game… I’m glad we did that for her as well.”
