Bangladesh beat West Indies to draw Test series and end 15-year wait
Bangladesh registered their first Test win in 15 years in the West Indies, drawing the two-match series 1-1.
Spinner Taijul Islam took 5-50 on day four as West Indies were bowled out for 185 to hand a 101-run victory to the tourists.
Earlier on Tuesday, Jack Ali’s best innings of 91 in Tests helped Bangladesh reach a total of 268 and set an ambitious winning target of 287.
The home team was confident in their chase but from the score of 92-2, they lost control and ended up losing their last six wickets for 42 runs.
Kavem Hodge was the top scorer for West Indies with 55 while captain Kraigg Brathwaite was the only scorer with 43 A batsman who scores more than 20 runs.
It was Bangladesh’s first Test win in the West Indies since 2009 when they swept the series 2-0.
It also means they have won three away Test matches in a year for the first time, following two wins against Pakistan in Rawalpindi in August and September.
