FPL tips and team of the week: Cole Palmer and Nicholas Jackson will shine in gameweek 14
Stefan Ortega, Manchester City, goalkeeper, £5.2m – Nottingham Forest home
Arsenal’s triple defense paid off at home to Forest two weeks ago, so we’ll be back on the pitch again.
In that game, Arsenal limited Forest to zero shots on target. Manchester City’s defense is poor quite Just as good, but they’ve been terrible lately.
However, they still have quality players and have kept at least 11 clean sheets every season under Guardiola – down from 20 clean sheets three seasons ago.
Ortega was picked ahead of Ederson against Liverpool and I had a good substitute just in case.
Josco Gvardiol, Manchester City, £6.2m – Nottingham Forest home
Partnering with Ortega is Manchester City’s best defender Gvardiol.
He has the best goal threat – 18 shots on target, second most among Premier League defenders – and is good value for money if you can afford him.
I think he’s back in the team after being a substitute at Liverpool.
Gabriel, Arsenal, £6.2m – Manchester United home
United have conceded 14 goals from set pieces this season, third-highest in the league.
Gabriel had 13 shots and 6 great chances in the penalty area – almost all of them headers from corner kicks!
So, in a week that’s likely to produce a few clean sheets, our plan is to pick the league’s most likely scorer from the corners.
There’s some uncertainty about his injury, but a strong starting backup could make up for that.
Leif Davis, Ipswich Town, £4.5m – Crystal Palace home
Davies has been part of the team on a number of occasions and is one of the best prospects in the game worth £4.5m due to his attacking threat.
Crystal Palace have struggled of late and with Daniel Munoz in their place at right-back, it means there will be space on the flank for Davies.
