City have failed to win any of their last six games in Rodri’s absence and the Spain international will be hoping to help his teammates before the end of the season.
“My goal is to come back this season. I won’t give up on the season, (but) I don’t want to make any mistakes. My goal is six or seven months,” Rodri told The Rest Is Football podcast.
“I did a lot better than I thought I would. I enjoyed the rest of the time, if I can say that.”
“My feeling is that the knee is not cracked, it’s stable. I believe it’s not bad. But I’m positive right now, that’s all.
“It was so painful for the first month and a half that I couldn’t walk, but now it’s much better.”
The Premier League season ends on May 25, eight days before the FA Cup final on May 17.
After the domestic competition, the expanded Club World Cup will be held in the United States with 32 teams, including Manchester City, running from June 15 to the July 13 final.
