India in Australia: Beau Webster called up by hosts
Australia have included uncapped Tasmanian all-rounder Bo Webster in the squad for the second Test against India in Adelaide.
The 30-year-old, who was the Sheffield Shield Player of the Year last season, will join the national team for the tournament, which begins on December 6.
Webster’s averages in first-class cricket are 38 with the bat and 37 with the ball.
He will provide cover for Mitchell Marsh who is working his way back to fitness Australia lost the first Test in Perth.
The Tasmanian, who bowls mostly seam but can also bowl spin, joins an otherwise unchanged line-up as the home side look to strike a balance in the five-match series.
This week, he played for Tasmania against New South Wales, batting scores of 61 and 49, taking five wickets with the ball.
Earlier this month, he scored 145 runs in two games against India A and took seven wickets at an average of 19.57.
