Zayn Malik paid tribute to his former One Direction bandmate Liam Payne at his show in Leeds on Saturday night, holding up a sign that read: “Love you ,brother”.

Malik’s tour was due to begin in Edinburgh earlier this week. However, he rescheduled two shows in the city, citing “unforeseen circumstances”.

The singer also previously postponed his US tour because he called Payne “heartbreaking”.

Payne died last month after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony in Argentina at the age of 31.

Family, friends and former bandmates remembered him at a funeral in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, on Wednesday.

At the O2 Academy in Leeds, Malik performed a series of hits including “Pillowtalk” and “My Woman”.

It comes after Malik announced last week that he would be rescheduling two of his Edinburgh shows.

He said on Instagram Stories that the show, originally scheduled for November 20 at Edinburgh’s O2 Academy venue, has been rescheduled to December 8.

Another match at the same venue on November 21st has been moved to December 9th.

“All tickets for the original show date will be honored for the rescheduled date,” the post added.

In October, he decided to postpone his U.S. shows, telling fans: “In light of the heartbreaking loss I have experienced this week, I have decided to postpone the U.S. leg of my Ladder to the Sky tour.”

The U.S. portion of Malick’s tour is scheduled to begin in San Francisco before visiting Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and New York.

He told fans on X that the date would be rescheduled for January and that tickets would still be valid for the new date.

“Love you all and thank you for your understanding,” he added.

Payne and Malik are known worldwide as part of boy band One Direction (created in 2010 on the X Factor TV show), singing alongside bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan.

Malik left the band in 2015 to pursue a solo career, and the band subsequently disbanded in 2016.

Following Payne’s death, his One Direction bandmates posted a series of poignant and heartfelt tributes to their “brother”, who they considered the “most important part” of the band.

Malik wrote: “I love and respect you deeply. I will always cherish all the memories I have with you and no words can justify or explain how I feel right now other than extreme shock.”

“I hope wherever you are right now, you are well and at peace and you know how much you are loved.”
