Greece v Scotland: Steve Clarke defends Lennon Miller
Miller’s father Lee (former Scottish striker) thought “respectful and confident” Lennon’s “excellent” description of himself in a conversation with the media.
However, he said in a speech on the BBC’s Scottish Football Podcast that his boy was shocked by a “vomiting” game.
“When I got home from get off work, I talked to him and I said, ‘I listened to your interview, it’s great…two months, you’re going to be the best player”, he just smiled and thought, ‘Oh, I know, I know, I know, I messed up’.
“I said ‘No, you have faith in yourself’. Obviously, these words are not correct, but they are words that vomit.
“When you put the camera in front of that camera, when you get asked a lot of questions, you feel like you have to say something and he just blurts out.
“He probably never thought about it at the time, but when I figured him out, he just smiled and thought ‘aw naw’.”
