Eilish McColgan ‘numb’ to ‘dangerous’ body shaming comments

“It is dangerous for people to see comments like this and think that’s what you have to do.

“I’m healthy, physically healthy. Just because my little frame does not mean I have an eating disorder.

“I asked me to send me a message telling me that they need to run on the treadmill for so long every day to balance calories and that’s just something.

“I eat what I want, I’m a normal person. I had a box of donuts the other day because I wanted a box of donuts.

“It also hurts people who are actually suffering from diet orders. It’s a serious problem.”

McColgan enters her first training session at the London Marathon and she enters a new part of her career.

The 34-year-old, the 10,000m champion of the Commonwealth Champion, is happy to be on the starting line and has to withdraw from the 2023 race due to injury and admits she is entering the unknown.

“It’s a new challenge, but it’s a natural progression,” the Scots added. “It took me longer than usual.

“It’s just how my career went, and I can’t do anything about it. I absolutely love my career in track and field, and this new chapter is in its early stages.

“It’s like you’re really doing a new sport. Everyone has to start somewhere, and when you do it the first time, it’s hard for everyone.”
