Iga Swiatek not proud of Indian Wells ball boy incident
Swiatek did not make the final this year, with her last champion at the French Open last June.
She added that she was “not willing to explain herself” but wanted to share her views “stop speculation and unfounded theories.”
“When I was highly focused and didn’t show a lot of emotions in court, I was called a robot and my attitude was marked inhumane,” she said.
“Now that I’m more expressive, showing feelings or internal struggles, I’m suddenly labeled as immature or hysterical.
“It’s not a healthy standard – especially considering that six months ago, I felt my career hanging in a line, spending three weeks crying every day and not wanting to step onto the court.
“Today, after all I’ve been through, I’m still dealing with these experiences.”
Swiatek tested positive for heart medication in August, when she was the world’s number one.
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) accepted the test results were caused by contamination.
She missed three matches during the suspension, and Aryna Sabalenka eventually replaced her world rankings in October.
Swiatek will be the second seed for the Miami Open, which will begin Tuesday.
