HyperX Adds Bluetooth to Cloud 3 and New Cloud Jet Dual Headsets
HP announced a number of products at this week’s zoom-in meeting, most of which range from refresh to blurring new models. But one update worth discussing is Hyperx Cloud 3 S Wireless, the successor to the popular and excellent Cloud 3 Wireless, plus the new $80 Cloud jet dual-wire wireless Headphones to line.
In addition to the old 2.4GHz wireless, Cloud 3 S also adds Bluetooth Cloud 3 Wirelesswhich also allows HyperX to increase battery life too: when connected to 2.4GHz via dongle, it says the same 120 hours as the older models, but because of the less power of Bluetooth, HyperX now scores it at 200 hours when using Bluetooth. Like many cheap dual-mode headsets, the Cloud 3 S can only switch between Bluetooth and 2.4GHz and cannot use them at the same time. One of the big drawbacks is that you can’t monitor notifications on your phone when it connects to your computer – just hear it ring and pick it up and control the phone. It looks the same as the older model.
The cloud jet duo runs similarly, but the new headphones are in the entry/upgrade level, and their beauty is prick model. It has typical course specifications, including 20 to 25 hours of battery life, mesh foam ear cushions and 40mm drives. In the deviation of the HyperX’s typical padded headband, it incorporates a resilient ski suspension design similar to Steelsies.
