Specifically, the belt is constructed from sweat and waterproof material fuel elastics. Apple says each belt has at least 30% regenerated fluoroelastic agent, and the flakes scattered on the belt are made of at least 66% fluoro-resistant plastics – very neat. Interestingly, these flakes scattered in a random way to ensure that every Nike sports band is unique.
More generally, it’s a very beautiful band. I tested the midnight sky variant, where the flakes left an impression of the starry sky on the gray-black strap. In addition to the midnight sky, you can choose from: blue flame (blue and orange); cargo khaki (green and blue); desert stone (a sandy texture with orange and blue details); magic ash (pink); pure platinum (white, with Mulit split); and volt splash (green). This is not the only difference, though, as there are many size options. The belt is compatible with three different case sizes: 40, 42 and 46mm. You can also put it in small to medium size (140-190mm) or medium to large (160-210mm). I used the former and found the comfortable fit very easy – just poke the aluminum pin through one of the many holes on the belt and it’s OK.
Even with a belt that took a full day for a long time, I never felt any irritation or annoyance. The high density of holes means that your wrist has plenty of room to breathe, and the material is essentially resistant to water and sweat, making this belt perfect for exercise. I continued running, walking a lot, never realizing any stress or damage, so you can rest assured that there is a lot of quality here.
Quality is exactly what you would expect from an Apple Watch band at this price. $49/£49 This thing is not cheap. There are some third-party alternatives – e.g. Cemika Silicone Sports Belt or Yoohoo Adjustable Metal Strap – This may be your price for less than $15/£15. But actually, I think you’ll feel different. The quality of materials, excellent color design and more quality look of Nike Sports Band makes it a superior companion to your Apple Watch, especially if you are someone who likes to be active.
