Menna Fitzpatrick: British Para-alpine skier breaks leg in training
Menna Fitzpatrick, Britain’s most decorated Winter Paralympian, is expected to miss most of the season after breaking her leg in training.
The 26-year-old disabled alpine skier has undergone surgery.
Fitzpatrick has six Paralympic medals, including slalom gold in 2018, and three world titles.
“It may not be the end of pre-season we had hoped for, but Menna is in the best shape of her life in the gym and fighting for Cortina-Milan 2026,” she said on her Instagram page with guide Katie Guest (Katie Guest) said in a post shared.
A spokesman for GB Snowsport said: “After sustaining an injury during summer training, Menna Fitzpatrick has undergone successful surgery and is currently on a specialized rehabilitation programme.
“She is making positive progress and while under good circumstances she will return to training this winter, we will assess Menna’s recovery under the supervision of the British Snowsport medical team to ensure she is ready for competition in 2025. At his best – 26 seasons.”
The Para-Alpine World Cup season kicks off in December.
