Ange Postecoglou: Tottenham boss on referee decisions and Fulham defeat
Postecoglou took away struggling Yves Bissouma and Brennan Johnson in the half-time match against Fulham and sent Bergvall and Son Heung-Min.
The Spurs owner confirmed that Bisoma had a poor performance, saying: “I just feel that Bis can sometimes let his game sweep him.
“He needs to be more dominant on his ball. Sometimes I think the game is far away from him and today we need more positions.
“I need him to play though because he doesn’t play a lot. At the same time, you have to perform. It can be said that Bysses and some others may lack some confidence.
“That had an impact on him, but we’re in the season that we need guys to get there and put that stuff aside and perform.”
PosteCoglou added: “It’s not about contacting him or lack of effort.
“I just think sometimes they go through these spells with the player, and he needs to find a way to break that, and we need to find a way to get it out of him.”
After only 10 points in the last 10 games, the 13th-place Spurs has become incredible to qualify for Europe through the Premier League.
But if the Spurs are to win the Europa League, they will qualify for the Champions League, and they will get closer and closer by eliminating AZ Alkmaar to the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Postecoglou, who has been severely criticized for domestic defeat this season, made it clear that the Spurs must not lose their last nine Premier League games.
“I told the players that I wouldn’t allow anyone to think about Europa, nothing else,” he said.
“We can’t let this league season do it. We lost too many games. Unacceptable.”
