Kabaddi World Cup: Scotland target semi-finals at first tournament outside Asia

Scottish soldiers targeted the semi-finals at the Cabadi World Cup, which began on Monday in the West Midlands and lasted for a week.

Head coach Sukhinder Dhillon is preparing his team for a round-robin match against India, Italy, Wales and Hong Kong China as the World Cup is held outside Asia for the first time.

“India is the strongest team in the group,” said Glasgow’s Delhiron. “They are the world champions with many quality players.

“We won the World Cup with a 100-1 record, considering that many teams have not been to the international arena. It’s a good fit for us.

“We’ll try it. Our guys have experience in the British league, but that’s certainly another level. Italy and the United States bring some superstars.”

Many players in Scotland and England have backgrounds in martial arts and wrestling, or like Sally Hill.

“The World Cup will bring a lot of awareness to Kabaddi, especially the women’s Kabaddi,” said England Hill.

“It’s a platform to show that it’s a high-speed, enthusiastic and fascinating game, and hopefully it encourages more people to get involved.”
