Carabao Cup final: Newcastle beat Liverpool & Dan Burn ‘feels like dreaming’
Most fans will be disappointed at 8 a.m. the day after their beloved club won their first trophy in 56 years – but most fans are not Dan Burn.
Two days after his first England call, the 32-year-old Newcastle Newcastle supporter scored the opening goal, while the Hippies beat Liverpool 2-1 at Wembley to win the Calaba Cup.
He is at the heart of their celebration.
Hipies owner Eddie Howe then entered the press room and said he was soaked in by Joelinton and other Hipies players.
But the conversation quickly turned into Byrne, the local lad of Bryce, who was 29 years old before joining the Childhood Times Club. He will report on England duty on Monday morning for the first time in his career.
The defender hit the header from the corner of Kieran Trippier (from about 12 yards) to get a lead before halftime.
This is Newcastle’s first Cup final since 1976. Their second will appear in the second half through Alexander Isak, and Federico Chiesa has won comfort for Liverpool.
Hao said: “There are a few days for Dan.” “His performance today is huge behind.
“We worked relentlessly in these corners for two weeks. He gave birth to one from a long-distance header. Incredible header. So it’s right for him.”
Bourne told Sky Sports: “My weeks were worse. I didn’t want to sleep because I felt like I was dreaming and it would all lie.
“I don’t have a lot of it, so I saved it a lot. I feel weird and I feel numb now.”
He added: “I will train in England at 8 o’clock tomorrow.”
Afterwards, Liverpool boss Arne Slot was asked why the 6-foot-7 Burn was so free–his answer was inspiring.
“We have five players on the target close to our goal,” he said. “If the ball comes there, we will have five of the strongest players attacking the ball.
“Usually, players usually run to the area. Usually, I think he is an exception, I’ve never seen a player in my life bringing so much force into a distant corner from that distant ball. 99 out of 100 times won’t lead to a goal.
“Thanks to him, he’s one of the few players who can score goals from that distance from his head.”
