British trio take men’s team sprint gold at Track Nations Cup
Matthew Richardson, Harry Ledingham-Horn and Harry Radford set new British records in the men’s group Sprint in the UCI Track and Field Cup in TĆ¼rkiye.
In the qualifying round, the British trio had a record time of 41.788 seconds in the first round, and then Ledingham-Horn reversed the narrow deficit against Japan on the Gold-Medal ride.
“We have a great job as a team,” said Richardson, who competed with the GB team for the first time since Australia’s nationality switches.
āThis is our first time playing in a team race, so we are learning every ride and trying to take as much from one person as possible.ā
Meanwhile, Lowri Thomas, Lauren Bell and Rhian Edmunds brought the UK silver medal in the women’s sprint, and the Netherlands proved too strong in their final match.
