Ship captain charged over North Sea collision
The captain of a cargo ship that collided with an oil tanker in the North Sea was charged with aggravated manslaughter.
On Monday around 10:00 GMT, the Portuguese-signed Solong and the U.S.-registered tanker Stena Immaculate crashed off the East Yorkshire coast.
One of Solong’s crew members disappeared and were presumed to be dead.
Humberside police said Vladimir Motin, 59, was remanded in St. Petersburg, Russia on Saturday and has been remanded in police custody and appeared in Humberside Court on Saturday.
