Merck Foundation provides close to 1050 scholarships out of their 2230 scholarships for women doctors as part of their Women Empowerment Efforts – Marking International Women’s Day 2025

“I am proud of the work we have done at the Merck Foundation to build and enhance fertility throughout Africa and Asia, supporting children-free women and couples on the fertility journey. This brings me great joy to share to what we have already provided 680 scholarships for embryology, fertility and reproductive care for young doctors from 39 countriesimprove access to women’s health.
Many of our alumni are trained to be the first local experts in their country and before our program they have never had local embryologists or fertility experts before our program, such as Gambia, Burundi, Guinea, Chad, Niger, Niger, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Malawi, Malawi, Congo, etc.
