Stefano Domenicali: Formula 1 boss signs new five-year contract

Formula One CEO Stefano Domenicali has signed a new five-year contract by the end of 2029.

Former Italian Ferrari principal and CEO of Lamborghini has held the position since 2021.

The deal was announced a few days before the opening of the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

“Stefano has been driving the business to a new level of success and becoming a global movement today,” the F1 statement reads.

Domenicali said: “I am honored to continue leading this incredible campaign, which I love and have been a part of my life since I was a child.

“Together, together with all relevant F1 stakeholders, we will continue to serve the best interests of our fans as they are the heartbeat of everything we do.

“Furious, energy, and adrenaline are the fuels that give me the absolute greatest and best capabilities every day.”

Domenicali spent six years at Ferrari between 2008 and 2014 and was the team’s last principal to win the world championship – the 2008 builder championship.

He joined Lamborghini in 2016, then succeeded American Chase Carey in Formula 1 five years later.
