Six Nations 2025: Wales aim to avoid Wooden Spoon race to the bottom

Wales once again seeks to avoid winning the Six Nations on the final weekend of the match.

The wooden spoon is the champion on the side of the table, which is Wales’ first 21-year questionable honor in 2024.

When the men’s national team played England in “Super Saturday”, it summed up the current Welsh rugby state in hopes of avoiding a historic second straight wooden spoon instead of competing for the Six Nations title or winning a Grand Slam.

France, Ireland, England and Scotland are still winning the match equation, but only Wales and Italy can support the table and claim one of the most unnecessary prizes for rugby.

Italy hosted Ireland (14:15 GMT), Welsh Entertainment UK was welcomed in the final round of Saturday at BBC One (GMT 16:45) and France welcomed Scotland (GMT 20:00 GMT).

Wales will at least know what they need to do when they play after their Italian rivals, with at least £500,000 in jeopardy, which is the difference between fifth and sixth.
