Syrian Alawite families flee to Lebanon after violence
In the past few days, at least 6,000 Syrians have crossed neighboring Lebanon to escape violence in the coastal provinces of Latakia and Taltas.
The region is the stronghold of Syria’s ousted former President Bashar al-Assad, where hundreds of civilians were killed by security forces from the new government.
BBC Beirut correspondent Carine Torbey is located in the Alavepei border village of Lebanon where Syrians find shelter.
