Here’s What A New Report Tells Us About The World’s Super-Rich
A new report says the United States is home to nearly half of the world’s billionaires’ wealth, but the super-rich population in other corners of the world is expected to grow faster in the coming years.
According to a new report by global real estate consulting firm Knight Frank, U.S. billionaires hold about $5.7 trillion in wealth. According to the company’s estimates, it accounts for about 40% of the global billionaires’ wealth.
Meanwhile, the country is home to 30% of global billionaires, with nearly 40% of whom own $10 million or more. By comparison, 20% of 20% lived in China last year.
But the wealth pattern is changing: India is home to 19.1 billionaires, 26 of which have been created over the past year, with billionaires growing in France, Brazil and Russia, according to Knight Frank.
The company predicts that Africa’s young population, natural resources and foreign investment will grow rapidly, with its wealthy population growing rapidly in the coming years.
Knight Frank’s roster of more than 2,700 billionaires show 427 finance and investment and 342 technology. However, technology billionaires dominated the total wealth of $2.6 trillion, with nine people exceeding $50 billion.
The organization said manufacturing is surpassing the technology created by new wealth. While 87% of billionaires are male, while last year’s billionaires were under 30 were female, while women were nearly 47%.
