Six Nations 2025: Head coach Matt Sherratt says Wales must not be ‘chewed up’ by losing run

Wales ended Ireland in Sherratt’s first responsible match but could not replicate this intensity in the opening exchange against Scotland.

Gregor Townsend’s team made four attempts at the break as they surpassed Wales and thus led by 20 points.

“We know two things will be important,” said Serrat.

“They beat competitive kicking games and they have a very good defense in the contact area.

“That’s what happened in the first 40 minutes because we gave them three more runs and they were dangerous.”

Sherratt insists that it is these technical issues, not any emotional issues.

“It’s easy to say there’s a drop in emotionally, but I don’t think that’s the case,” Sherratt said.

“They are a great Scottish team and we have to remember that. They have been together for a long time and we met them on a great day.

“There is no lack of passion there. Our boys have put in a lot of effort over the last 20 minutes.

“It’s great to get the reward points for four attempts, but it’s even more pleasant to see them defending our route.

“Some of our forwards have excellent solutions in these suits.”
