Teen who attacked gurdwara given hospital order
A teenager who carried out an attack on a church in Kent has been detained in hospital.
The 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was detained by police after a disturbance inside the Sri Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara in Gravesend on July 11.
Two women were also attacked outside the building and police recovered a bladed weapon.
The boy was given a hospital order at the time of sentencing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
Kent Police previously said no one was seriously injured in the attack.
Officials also said the incident was “not related to terrorism” but was being treated as a “religiously serious incident”.
