Six Nations 2025: Gibson-Park v Dupont could take centre stage in Ireland-France showdown

Peruse Ireland and France’s lineup among the potential champion decisionists on Saturday, and you’ll find an instant head-to-head battle.

Caelan Doris v. Gregory Alldritt puts the world’s two best eight together, Andrew Porter V Uini Atonio will be a fascinating Scrum Time battle, and Powerhouse Irish Center Bundee Aki will meet him at Yoram Moefana.

But naturally, most eyes attract chaotic battles.

At Antoine Dupont, France has talent passed down from generation to generation. Dupont, the world’s Player of the Year for the 15s and sevens, Olympic gold medalist and poster boys, has been happily exhausted in recent years.

His extraordinary gift Call his Toulouse teammate the “Martian”Emmanuel Meafou revealed last year.

Dupont’s worthy opponent on Saturday was Jamison Gibson-Park. He is his teammate’s “Jamo”, an Ireland non-explosive metronome and a leader in the nine-pole worn by the British and Irish lions in Australia this summer.

“Yes, it will be fun,” said Simon Easterby, interim coach of Ireland.

“At the top of their game, there are two great players. There are a lot of individual fights throughout the team, but it will be special.”

Of course, this is not the first time Gibson Park and DuPont have crossed the path. They met twice in the Champions League, including last year’s final, when DuPont’s Toulouse defeated Gibson-Park’s Leinster in overtime.

They have seen three times in six countries, although not since 2022 (Gibson Park was injured in 2023, while Dupont skipped the championship of the past year).

This time, the bet is high.
