Layouts soared in February, led by government efficiency reduction departments. According to Challengers, Gray and Christmas, employers laid off about 172,000 jobs last month. This is the largest number of layoffs per month since the July 2020 pandemic. CBS News Moneywatch correspondent Kelly O’Grady crashed it.
