Trump announces month-long suspension of Mexico tariffs

U.S. President Donald Trump said that until April 2, Mexico will not need to impose tariffs on goods under trade agreements between the two countries and Canada.
Trump has not confirmed whether the suspension also applies to Canada, but Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said earlier Thursday that he hopes the probation applies to two neighbors in the United States.
The latest move is Trump’s second climb on his tariffs in two days.
On Wednesday, he said he would temporarily avoid automakers from their 25% import tax the day after they came into effect.
Lutnick told CNBC that it may extend the temporary exemption of tariffs on the parts of cars imported from Canada and Mexico to all products under the United States-Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA).
