Jonas vs Price: Joe Gallagher complains about ‘uncalibrated’ scales as champions weigh in
Trainer Joe Gallagher complained about the “uncalibrated” scales, and then world champions Natasha Jonas and Lauren Price successfully competed in Friday’s middleweight united battle.
Just as the WBA belt price is about to step onto the stage, Jonas’s coach Gallagher questioned why the scale lacks stickers for authenticity.
He claimed that all bots were “about one pound” than they should be, and asked to postpone the weighing to the scale for calibration.
“They are rules. I just play by the rules,” Gallagher said.

Liverpool’s WBA and IBF champion Jonas then tilted the scale with a 6-pound mark on the 10th.

Price, 30, won Olympic gold in Tokyo in 2020 and remained unbeaten in eight professional games.
“Gallagher is trying to achieve his relationship, but it’s Jonas V Price,” she said.
The event ended with a gracious handshake between the two champions, who will headline the All-Women Card at Royal Albert Hall in London.
