FPL gameweek 12 tips and team of the week – captain Salah and back Gabriel and Saliba clean sheets
Mohamed Salah (captain), Liverpool, £12.9m – away at Southampton
Judging from Salah’s current performance, it is natural to award him the captain’s armband.
He has a surprising seven double-digit returns in 11 games so far. Pessimists will say he can’t continue to be as productive – if he did, he would have a record-breaking 369-point season – but a trip to Southampton doesn’t feel like a stumbling block.
Salah has many avenues for production. The last game was typical Mo – the non-owner was running away only An assist – As Villa chased the game, the Egyptians counterattacked and scored with their only shot in the final seconds.
Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United, £8.4m – away to Ipswich Town
I’m picking Fernandes for the same reasons as Salah, he’s a guy in good form but he’s underperforming based on his underlying statistics.
With 17 points to come in Week 11, the Portuguese maestro has often exploded for scoring in the FPL.
Dwight McNeil, Everton, £5.7m – Brentford home
McNeil has returned to fitness and has been Everton’s talisman this season.
3 goals, 3 assists, involved in 60% of the goals in the games he participated in.
Everton have only scored 10 goals this season, but if they fail to score against Brentford, who have the joint-second worst defense with 22 goals conceded, then they will There’s trouble.
Emile Smith Rowe, Fulham, £5.7m – Wolves home
The former Arsenal midfielder was one of my pre-season players to keep an eye on, but he made his debut in the Team of the Week.
Like McNeil, ESR has become a key player for Fulham, returning for almost every other game.
He has a knack for getting into the box at the right time and it wouldn’t be surprising if he ends the season with close to 10 goals – he has three goals in 11 games so far.
