FPL gameweek 28 tips: Eddie Nketiah, Beto and Christopher Nkunku make great budget options
Mohamed Salah (Captain), Liverpool, £13.8m – Southampton (H)
I expect one of the easiest captain choices this season, with at least two returns.
Cole Palmer (Vice Captain), Chelsea, £11.1m – Leicester (H)
Despite a 4-0 victory at Chelsea last week, you can’t ignore Palmer, which should be in another comfortable victory at Stamford Bridge.
Another blank, a conversation about selling him is going to go, but he had 7 photos last week with an expected target (XG) of 1.07.
Dominik Szoboszlai, Liverpool, £6.4m – Southampton (H)
The Hungarian has quietly become Liverpool’s most reliable midfielder choice, with five goals and seven assists this season.
He has scored goals in the last two games, and in the five double-digit returns in 2024-25, it’s the explosive you want.
This is Liverpool’s crushed home game and is definitely worth three times worth it.
Bryan Mbeumo, Brentford, £8m – Aston Villa (H)
I always like teams that are resting at home, playing with the teams that play on Wednesday, and you have to fantasize about Brentford to fight things on the side of the villa that should be tired.
Mbeumo is their amulet and now has 20 returns after his last game of the season.
Did you hold him in a tricky run including Arsenal and Newcastle? This will be difficult to do very quickly.
Christopher Nkunku, Chelsea, £5.7m – Leicester (H)
Pedro Neto was outstanding at this position last week, but Nkunku was perhaps more impressive than his Portuguese teammates, with a much greater threat to targets.
He could be in ninth again, from where he had four goals and scored a goal against Southampton.
