Bath have a ‘hunger’ for trophies ahead of Premiership Rugby Cup semi-final

This season, Buss has a “hunger” to win three trophys, saying assistant coach Andy Robinson is ahead of the team’s Premier League Rugby Cup semi-finals.

Premier League leaders headed to Newcastle on Friday to book a spot in their first Cup finals of their campaign.

Bass is still withdrawing from the Champions League in January in Europe but enters the Challenge Cup that will return next month.

“There is a hunger, but there is an understanding of what the process is, and that is, that’s our goal, and that’s a goal that still wins three trophies and ensures we continue to win,” Robinson told BBC Points West.

“It’s the goal, but it’s about the performance.”

Bass has never made such a long way to make it in the Premier League Rugby Cup before and has lost only one of six games in the billiards phase of the game to reach their team knockout phase.

They beat the Harlequin 39-28 in the quarterfinals last Friday.

Robinson said he valued players focusing entirely on their next performance rather than thinking further.

“You have to spend Friday, you have to win this game. Finally, after winning two games from now on, you can only get the trophy.”

“It’s about understanding how to win this week. If we’re lucky enough to do that, it’s about how we’re going to be next week,” he said.

“I never really thought about winning a trophy as a player, it’s all about the next show, that’s what I like about this group, it’s all about the next show.”
