YouTube’s Premium Lite Plan Arrives in the US. Here’s What You Get
YouTube’s Premium Lite Pilot program is expanding to the U.S. for nearly four years after Google-owned streaming begins Test pilot service In Europe. With this launch, YouTube says it is testing the option for U.S. users after offering quality Lite in Germany, Thailand and Australia.

So yes, YouTube music and advanced features such as background playback, and the ability to download offline viewing titles do not include Premium Lite. If you want to play music, podcasts, and audiobooks, stick with Spotify—it’s not a replacement for this kind of entertainment. However, for YouTube viewers who want to watch videos without regular interruptions from advertisers, this program might be for you.
