A child died after being hit by a car on the sports field.
After 16:58 GMT, the Emergency Services participated in the Kendall Rugby League Club in Cumbria, reporting a collision involving a car and two children.
Cumbria police confirmed that one of the children had died and the second was being treated by a caregiver.
The driver of the car is a man in his 40s who was arrested for suspected dangerous driving death.
Police viewed it as an isolated incident and said it was not suggested that it was related to terror.
The car involved is the black BMW I40.

Professional investigators were on the scene and the area was blocked.
“We are deeply saddened to events that confirm that the events that happened today have led to the tragic loss of children’s lives,” said Dr. Stephen Green, chairman of Kendall League Rugby Football Club, on Facebook.
“Our ideas are with their family and friends, and during this difficult time we implore all to participate in the privacy.”
He added that the club is working with the investigation and all facilities will be closed when the operation is carried out.
