Old Firm Hampden tickets cut by 500 after pyro use
Fireworks technology in Scottish stadiums has been illegal since 2023.
After the events of European games, Wanderers and Celtics have been fined in recent years, and the European Union has also warned the Celtics that fans will face a travel ban if they continue to violate the rules.
Football authorities have also worked closely with the Scottish government to provide more football bans for those accused of fireworks crimes.
Football ban orders prevent individuals from participating in any matches in the UK.
“The Wanderers used fireworks on Premier Sports Cup fixtures earlier this season and imposed SPFL statements and club sanctions on the club,” the Wanderers said in a statement.
“The club has always been clear that the use of fireworks in our games is unacceptable and may result in sanctions.
“Now, this has passed our 500 supporters and is locked in a Prime Minister’s Sports Cup tie in Hampden when the club enters the post-game stage next time.
“In any future SPFL (Premier League or League Cup) game, reuse will lead to more supporters – the vast majority of people will not use fireworks – unable to compete in future semi-finals or finals in the major sports cups at the National Stadium.
“Roamers reiterate that the use of fireworks is illegal and will now deprive the Rangers of the opportunity to support their teams in key competitions.”
Celtics and Motherwell have been contacted for comment.
