Peaty omitted from GB’s world-class programme for 2025
Six-time Olympic medalist Adam Peaty has not been included in a group of elite swimmers supported by the 2025 watersports GB.
People are talking about whether Peaty, 30, will retire after winning a silver medal at the Paris Olympics last summer, but he told the BBC that he will still be resting in training for the next two years last year.
Although not selected as one of the 57 swimmers in the Aquatics GB world-class program, Peaty has not announced his retirement yet.
He is still involved in the UK swimming program but has had an extended break after Paris, which has been more than three years for the next Olympics.
Peaty won the first of three Olympic gold medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics, posting on Instagram last month that he “slowly” began to build his own fitness and skills.
He has not publicly committed to attend the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, but he said he would be “100%” in the competition if 50 million breaststroke activities were added to the schedule.
Ten Olympic medalists including Matt Richards, Duncan Scott, Tom Dean and James Guy have been included in the top watersports GB program, which has access to funding, training and sports science support.
