Rugby league: Have games in Las Vegas been a success?
The National Rugby League (NRL) behind the program transforms the world-renowned Freemont Street into a spectacular red carpet sidewalk filled with dancers, musicians, drummers and sports celebrities, welcomes players on eight of the teams.
More than 10,000 fans participated in the competition, creating a carnival atmosphere, like the sport has never seen before.
Many people watch from obstacles and open their mouths on a welcome scale.
Everything before the ball gets kicked.
If it weren’t for the vision of Wigan Warriors CEO Kris Radlinski, the Premier League might not have been here at all.
Twelve months ago, he contacted the NRL to attract his team to participate, the first game limited to Australian clubs last year.
“I never thought it was like this, it was bigger than I thought,” Radlinsky said.
“But it’s what we deserve. I want everyone to believe in what is possible at home. We’ve gone through a sport, it’s a sport, and it’s a lot of effort behind the scenes, we’re in Las Vegas – it’s exciting. We should enjoy and embrace it.”
