Barry Ferguson at Rangers and Hibs v Hearts derby analysis

Two games, Ferguson’s case…

Paul: The season can’t end fast enough to clear out this underperforming Rangers and start over. Give the management position to Barry Ferguson full-time, and then we will see a formed team of fighters, diehards and winners, the manager sets the standard from his successful career at the club.

Jim: We just weren’t good enough…the players looked scared. When the crowd attracts them, they don’t like it. Confidence was shot. The list is still ongoing. Break this team.

Ian: Pep Guardiola or Alex Ferguson cannot get adjustments from these players. There is no spine and a lack of body in the entire park. Players are not interested and have no strength. Bad recruitment responsibility. The team has only three to four players worth keeping. God knows what Barry did to it.

Roderick: I had hoped that the battle presented at Kilmarnock would still prove it. Sadly, isn’t it? Still toothless in the attack, defending the rock. To be fair to Barry Ferguson, though, I’m sure even a senior manager will be hard to get any consistency from the current team. We are just getting more turbulent in the season at close range.

Lenny: Absolutely shameful performance. If we play against Fenerbahce’s Tavernier and Propper on Thursday night, we’ll be hammered. Haji is awful. We loaned young Leon King – he was better than the player he played in defense. Barry Ferguson is not a magician. Now give youth a chance, our season is over anyway.

And early cases against interim managers…

Alistair: How was the decision to appoint an unproven replacement manager? No successful record. There is no good example for the players. Barry and (Allan) McGregor attracted their copybooks on Scottish duties. Is this what we want the fans and team to look up to and respect? Such a mistake.

Anonymous: Ferguson joined Monday, conducting daily interviews and press conferences, taking photos around Ibrox and appointing his good friend as coach, but he kept telling us every time: “It has nothing to do with me, it’s the team.” Stayed off the court for 90 minutes and told us they were good players. There has never been a manager who has taken us back and now he has included him in the summary!

William: We’re totally in trouble and the so-called management team will still be here in August is ridiculous…

Anonymous: No matter how good the player is, he is not a management material. Get rid of the old guard without clues.

Rab: Terrible manifestations, no obvious way to change tactics or previous management systems. The team lacks the ability to handle simple high news that Motherwell hires. There is nothing on the coaching team, some of whom criticize the former manager, can object to this.
