Midlothian head coach Steven Naismith’s former Rangers forward and former heart also believes that the Rangers need to make major changes.

The former Everton and Scottish striker said: “The only real way to close the gap and compete again is to acquire and invest heavily.”
“Roamers have been catching up, so I think they need to close that gap quickly.
“The takeover brings some optimism, but when you’re hiring, selecting coaches and later, you still need to make the right choice and make the right decision. So there’s a lot of work to do.”
Naismith believes that too many teams are “feared” to take responsibility in the Rangers, are expected to win, and should invest in the increase in the acquisition budget to change the team’s image.
“The investment side has to come and put it into ready-made players to cope with pressure, have a leadership and a winning mindset.
“For me, that’s something missing.”
