French Prosecutors Close Apple Congo Conflict Minerals Case Over Insufficient Evidence

French prosecutors ended the case against apples on allegations of using Congo’s conflict minerals, citing insufficient evidence for money laundering or deceptive practices. The Democratic Republic of Congo accuses Apple’s subsidiary of purchasing minerals related to violence and child labour in the supply chain. Despite the case being dismissed, the Congolese legal team plans to appeal the decision, highlighting the seriousness of the problem. Congo is the main supplier of minerals used in electronic products such as tin, Tantalum and tungsten.
