Jose Mourinho: Fenerbahce coach given four-match ban for comments after Istanbul derby
Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has been banned from four matches and fined £35,194 for comments after playing against local rival Galatasaray on Monday.
Mourinho is accused of making racist remarks by Galatasaray Istanbul Derby and on Tuesday said his comments had been “completely out of context.”
Slovenian Slavko Vincic picked a 0-0 draw after the two clubs asked foreign officials to take charge of the fixtures.
But the fourth official was Turkish, and Mourinho repeated his criticism of the Turkish referee at a post-match press conference.
The 62-year-old Portuguese coach said he went to the referee’s locker room after Monday’s game and told the fourth official: “If you are a referee, this game will be a disaster”.

TFF said it would give him a punishment for “his derogatory and offensive remarks against Turkish referees” and for “accusing Turkish football of chaos and chaos, insulting and offensive remarks against the Turkish football community and all Turkish referees”.
The former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur owners were banned from playing two matches in the locker room and canoe and fined 117,000 TL (£2,543).
Mourinho also received two other bans on “anti-sports behavior” at the post-match press conference and was fined £32,651.
His comments include his saying: “After the first minute of the big dive, their bench jumped around the top of the child like a monkey… After one minute you will have a yellow card and in five minutes I will have to change (replace) him”.
“The statements used by opposition team members violate the concept of ethics and fair competition in sports, which contain expressions that may encourage violence and confusion in sports, are socially divided and separatist, and may lead to fan events,” TFF said.
Fenerbahce officials confirmed to the BBC on Thursday that the club would appeal Mourinho’s penalties.
