Post-mortem into businessman murdered in Kenya inconclusive
An autopsy on the body of a Scottish businessman was reportedly killed in Kenya, and the cause of his death was not determined.
Campbell Scott’s body was found in a bag of pineapples found on February 17 from the forest 60 miles (96.5 km) a few days later.
Mr Scott, 58, tied a rope around his hands and legs, and the country’s homicides regarded the case as a murder.
The two have been arrested, but local reports say Mr Scott’s body was “too small” to cause death.
Johansen Odor, chief pathologist for the Kenyan government, told African countries An autopsy on Mr. Scott’s body is inconclusive.
After that, the researchers collected samples for further screening, including toxicological tests to determine the cause of death.
Dr. Odel told the media Mr. Scott that Mr. Scott suffered “head injuries and multiple soft tissue injuries…blunt trauma”.
But he added: “Although it was just for clarification, the injury based on the pathologists looked too small to cause death. So they took the sample to investigate further.”
Mr Scott is believed to have visited a nightclub after arriving in Nairobi and was regarded as a suspect by the police along with an unidentified man.
Nation Africa reports that a taxi driver and waiter from a nightclub were detained but had helped direct police to a house in the pipeline area in the suburbs of Nairobi, where the suspect was believed to have been killed by Mr Scott.
Mr. Scott, from Dunfermline, Fife, is a senior director of FICO, a credit scoring company. He was attending a meeting at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi when he disappeared.
He was originally scheduled to meet with his colleagues and later gave a speech, but did not return to the hotel on February 17 the day after he arrived in the city.
A colleague submitted a police report after he failed to contact him.
