Graeme McDowell upbeat on golf’s future amid ongoing PGA Tour-LIV Golf talks
Since its inception in 2022, three-time Ryder Cup champion McDowell has been part of the LIV track.
One of the Northern Irish’s main goals this year is to qualify for the open title, which returned to Royal Porthush in July after Brooks Koepka’s Smash GC team re-signed.
McDowell is the only player in Northern Ireland to advance when it opened in 2019.

“I’ve had a busy enough six months to come, but the main champion is still the most important event in the world.
“I’ve tried my best over the last three to four years to qualify for the Open and the U.S. Open through different routes and with the Open opening rate at Porthush this year, this has increased the intensity for me.
“I’m looking around the world for opportunities that may be available and trying to double down on trying to compete.”
